The Sultan was able to unite large areas of the region and his influence was powerful enough that it expanded to a vast area of the eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. His widespread influence and striking power caught the attention of the Portuguese, who documented the Sultan in their reports as a subject to revere, respect, and fear.
